Welcome to Obsidian’s Little Black Book of bespoke cocktails.

We have put a great deal of time, effort and love into creating a drinks list we are really proud of, especially for you, our discerning customer. We hope you will love it as much as we do! If there is something else that tickles your fancy, please let one of our friendly bartenders know and we will gladly tailor a drink to your personal taste. Perhaps your little number can find its way into our little black book permanently? We have an extensive (some may say indulgent) range of premium spirits, far too many to list here. For those of you feeling a little adventurous we would love to recommend something extraordinary for you to try.

All Things Bubbly:    9.95

OBSIDIAN CASCADE - In this favourite, raspberries, vanilla, lychee and apple are mixed together then layered with Champagne.

STRAWBERRY AND AMARETTO BELLINI - Strawberry and amaretto with bubbles, go on then!

ENGLISH SUMMER PUNCH - Tanqueray gin is shaken with strawberries, raspberries, lemons, sugar and Crème de Cassis, spanked with Champagne. It’s a little ray of sunshine during the Mancunian winter.

EMPEROR’S GEISHA - Lychee and St Germain Elderflower liqueur topped up with Champagne. Simply delicious.

FRENCH KISS - Cointreau, rose petal liqueur, lemons and Smirnoff Black Vodka, finished with Champagne and served long over ice.

THE REGATTA - If Hendricks and cucumber float your boat, then you’re in for a right royal treat because we’ve gone and added lemon, honey, mint, St Germain elderflower and champagne.  Ahoy m’hearties!

Long – great drinks for all occasions £8.25

SERENDIPITY - Defined in the dictionary as “a fortuitous change of luck”. There’s no doubt you’ll agree when you taste Stolichnaya Raspberry Vodka, mixed with Chambord, lemon, vanilla sugar and seasonal berries.

RUM SMASH - Appleton VX rum is smashed with pineapple, mint and berry liqueurs. Served long, it’s almost good for you!

TOPANGA BANJO - Tanqueray gin is mixed with apples, mango, mint and sugar in this refreshing long drink.

MANGO TRASHY - The Mango Lassi is given the Obsidian treatment. Classic natural yoghurt and mangoes, add a generous helping of Sailor Jerry spiced rum, honey water and passion fruit.

THE WONDER YEARS - Obsidian’s bartenders all remember drinking milkshakes and watching this classic 80’s TV show when we were kids. We’ve grown up now and added amaretto, raspberries, strawberries, sugar and Mozart Belgian Chocolate liqueur.

A SCHOOLBOY ERROR - Despite its name, this is a great tasting drink. Here we muddle fresh Kiwi fruits with basil and Appleton white rum in Obsidian’s twist on the mojito.

GINI HENDRICKS - A careful combination of lychee, coconut, pineapple, and Hendricks gin. Shaken and served long, with a hint of cherry liqueur. Excuse me while I kiss the sky!

GINGER TOM - It took two of Obsidian’s bartenders to come up with this one, can you guess which ones? Barenjager honey is soured with lemon, sweetened with sugar, and spiced with root ginger and finished off with Crème de Myrtille.

GIN QUEEN - Tanqueray gin is gently shaken with vanilla sugar, strawberries, lemon juice and egg whites, definitely one for the ladies!

Martinis – Refined and overflowing with elegance £8.50

ENGLISH COUNTRY GARDEN- Hendricks gin and muddled cucumber with mint, lemon, honey and pressed apple juice. Mr. Titchmarsh, we hope we’ve done you proud!

BASIL & HONEY MARTINI - Sweet basil is beautifully complemented with Smirnoff Black vodka, honey water and freshly pressed English apple juice.

PORN STAR MARTINI - Obsidian’s home-infused vanilla vodka, shaken with passion fruit, lemon, pineapple and sugar, served with half a passion fruit and a shot of Champagne on the side. Come on girls!

LEMON MERINGUE PIE - In our opinion, as close to the real thing as it’s possible to fit in a glass, as a drink of course. Lemon sugar, Ketel One citrus vodka, honey and cream.

NO MANCHE (STER) - Jose Cuervo Traditional is dry shaken with almond sugar, rose petal, lemon juice, egg white and peach bitters, then chilled to perfection.  No way guey!

BROCKBACK MANDARIN- Not a drink for cowboys, honestly. Brockmans gin is stirred with Antica Formula, bitters, Mozart Chocolate and Mandarin Napoleon in this boozy chocolate orange treat.

RUMBUSTION - Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines! Appleton VX rum, Licor 43, nutmeg and vanilla in our very own take on the daiquiri.

ALL THAT JAZZ - Created exclusively by Obsidian for the opening night of Chicago in Manchester, Brockmans Gin is shaken with raspberries, passion fruit, cranberry and lemon.

Strong and Short – Straight to the Point £8.25

T.L.C - All things fruity in this one, raspberry vodka, passion fruit, apple and rhubarb

SHOW ME THE MONKEY - Monkey Shoulder whisky stirred with Barenjager honey liqueur and bitters. A fab tasting drink in honour of our fab friends!

TOBY WAN KENOBI - Little by name, but not by nature. This boy has knocked up a Thai inspired martini of Jedi proportions. Tanqueray gin, lychee, coconut, green chillies and chocolate are shaken together. The Force is strong in this one!

GROUNDS FOR DIVORCE - Obsidian’s tribute to the great Manchester band, Elbow. Maker’s Mark bourbon is infused with figs and stirred “old-fashioned” style.

SOUTH OF THE BORDER - Jose Cuervo Traditional Tequila is shaken with agave syrup, lemon juice, egg whites and a pinch of salt. Short, sharp & straight to the point.

THE BRAZILIAN - A truly hair raising experience! Beija-Flor cachaca is churned with limes and palm sugar in this South American treat.

MALAY SUNSET - This beautiful looking martini style drink is a combination of St. Germain Elderflower, Krupnik honey, apples, lemon and pomegranate.

ABSINTHE WITHOUT LEAVE - We take five different rums, including Appleton VX, Sailor Jerry, Goslings and Wray & Nephew Overproof. Shake with pineapple, orange, lemon and passion fruit and strain into an absinthe rinsed cocktail shaker. Sounds crazy, it probably is! We have a house limit of two per person, nobody goes AWOL on our watch!

PIMP MY COCKTAIL! - No, that’s not Tim Westwood behind the bar, but it may as well be!  In our humble twist on the good old Pimms, we add lashings of Tanqueray gin, rose petal, elderflower liquor and as much fruit as we can lay our hands on, and top up with fresh lemonade.  Safe yeah!?
